Which birds nest in a bird's nest fern?
Can you hear the ruffling of feathers?
Can a walking fern turn?
Is that fern really leather?
Is a baby's tears with cause?
Can a bear's breeches
slide to its paws?
A sensitive plant is soft
and hardwood trees aptly named.
But you needn't flinch
from a lobster claw pinch.
Can you spit seeds from a watermelon pepper?
Will a nun's orchid lift its petals in prayer?
A red fire mum flash and enchant?
Will you find metal in an aluminum plant?
Who's to blame for these names?
Who's sprung this spree of glee?
That's not clear to me.
Though 'tis not a pity.
They're really pretty witty.
