I woke up frightened late last night,
cold with frenzy at the sight,
of what creeped slowly 'cross the floor,
and snuck inside my dresser drawer.
I startled mother when I screamed,
a bigger mouse I'd never seen!
"It's not for real", my father said,
"it's just a dream...go back to bed!!"
He said these things I wouldn't see,
Without the movies on TV,
"But cross my heart, I saw him there--
he's sleeping in my underwear!"
"He looks like Freddy Kruger, Dad
the evidence is iron-clad
He might get out and eat us all,
he's four feet wide and six feet tall!"
I wanted him to hunt, at least
to see if he could find the beast,
for I was scared to close my eyes--
that mutant mouse was twice my size!
When I awoke my drawer was bare,
that creature wasn't anywhere,
which led me to believe it might
come visit me another night.
Then father bravely searched the house
and finally met the Franken-Mouse,
but soon my mom took take of that...
by bringing home a big, 'ol cat!
