I could tell you a role-swapping story,
one sure to make you think twice,
filled with shy and retiring dragons
and some fire breathing mice.
I could tell you a caper of daring,
a thrilling trail blazing tale,
one to lift you from life as you know it
and fly you beyond the pale.
I could tell you a legend of mystery,
a slowly unwinding yarn,
one to keep you supposing and guessing
'til the last page works its charm.
I could tell you a science fiction,
imported from outer space,
with creatures from each star and planet.
And one who's wearing your face.
I could ... but it's late and you're sleepy,
your mouth a yawn, it would seem.
And your eyes (so big!) must be heavy,
so goodnight my love ... and sweet dreams ...
