I wish I really had a home
But I was born to ever roam
Amongst the fields of golden corn
And hedgerows rich with summer crops
Of fruit and flowers that I see
Beneath my hidden tree
I was born so tiny and full of spikes
My eyes were small, my nose short too
My legs they carry me alongside you
Although you never see me here
I am with you, there is no fear
My ears, they twitch, my nose does too
My eyes, they sparkle like summer pools
My feet, they carry me through grasses tall
As glistening raindrops fall
And when winter comes and snowflakes land
The slumbering world is crisp and still
And frosted leaves lay on the ground I am here too, in my secret world
Asleep until spring commands
